designer
Verner Panton (1969). Panton marked the start of the pop aesthetic in furniture and light in 1960s effervescent Europe under Flower-Power. The Flower Pot family is an icon among his colourful futuristic designs. Panton has personalised many public and private spaces all over the world with designs still compelling today.
Panton regarded colour as even more important than form. At any rate, his designs, such as the Panton chair, are among the best known in the 20th century.
despite his beginnings as Arne Jacobsen’s assistant, Panton went against the current of the contemporary great Danish names. He developed a unique style with his visionary, colourful interiors as he believed that colour could bring forth emotions. He was right.
